ARIES 11/12 A FLOCK OF WILD GEESE FLYING IN TRIANGULAR FORMATION
The Lunar year of 2022 began with this Sabian Symbol, its themes being a major influence all year long:
This Sabian Symbol speaks to our need for community, friends, and family: It’s about leading and following, and allowing others to take on a leadership role. Journeying together the wild geese know where they need to go, and they follow the magnetic grids and the sun to better living conditions. The triangular formation points to the trinity of spirit, numerologically three refers to spiritual matters, and could also relate to the trinity of mind, body, and spirit.
Our geese are flying, the element here is air or ether, they are wild, and there is the idea of seeking freedom, maybe even from physical matters. They may also need to compromise their independence a little to keep the group spirit going and make efforts to adapt to the flock, the needs of the group, and the community.
This also brings up the idea of archetypes and personality alters, and different levels of the soul, the subtle energy bodies, and their meanings: One alter, archetype or personality may be dominant for a certain time, expressing certain beliefs and emotions to then fall into the background, following the natural cycles and seasons of light and darkness.
The deeper meaning revealed the unity of the original soul, the many and the One, all souls are sparks of the original being, the Adam Kadmon.
In connotation with this symbol, I find these words from Alan Watts paraphrasing a zen Koan perfectly fitting, as to how the perfect man would use his mind: “Flying over the lake, the wild geese do not intend to cast their reflection; the water has no mind to retain their image.”
Cycles and seasons, community-focused, spiritual home, following spirit, compromise, group mentality, alternating leadership, wilderness, matters of the mind, mental activity, archetypes, alters, soul, soul fragments, subtle bodies, Adam Kadmon.
